Said Makdar, popularly known as Kanda King, has been a professional dancer since he was ten. He has shared stage with renowned Lingala artistes such as Kanda Bongo Man, Awilo Longomba and Lesasa Joker. His son Islam Said seems to be following his footsteps. At age 10, he is already a skillful dancer who wows crowds every time he accompanies his father for music concerts. Kanda King has been mentoring him and he hopes that he will eventually take over from him when he finally retires.
