Celtic Connections 2008 opens its doors to world music, inviting Senegalese music star Baaba Maal. Accordion fans will be treated to an accordion fest with some of its top performers. Another focal point will be former Solas vocalist Karan Casey.

Joss Stone to headline South African Live Earth
Joss Stone will be among the headliners of Live Earth at the concert in South Africa. Also scheduled to play in South Africa are UB40 and Angelique Kidjo as well as Baaba Maal. The concert in South Africa will be held at Cradle of Humankind in Maropeng, outside of Johannesburg. South Africa will be represented at the concert, to be held on July 7th, by the Soweto Gospel Choir, Danny K and singer/songwriter Vusi Mahlasela. Read more
