Coinciding with the United Nations' International Day of Peace, the Concierto Paz Sin Fronteras (Peace Without Borders Concert) is primed to take place in Havana, Cuba this coming Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009. Organized and supported by Juanes, the Colombian superstar will be joined by a roster of Latin artists including Amaruy Perez, Los Van Van, Orishas, Silvio Rodriguez, Carlos Varela and X Alfonso from Cuba. It will also include Spain's Miguel Bose, Luis Eduardo Aute and Victor Manuel, from Puerto Rico Olga Tanon and Danny Rivera, from Ecuador Juan Fernando Velasco, from Italy Jovanotti as well as Cucu Diamentes & Yerba Buena from the U.S. The artists that are scheduled to perform are pretty heavy from the Cuban side and light from the U.S., no doubt as a result of the controversial selection of venue as the concert will be held at the Jose Marti Revolution Plaza in Havana. Latin music fans will have the opportunity to watch the concert as it occurs; HITN (Hispanic Information & Telecommunications Network) has confirmed that they will be televising the concert live starting at 2 pm ET/11 am PT on their network.
