This is the original version of the piece by Robbie McCauley and Ed Montgomery, performed by Sedition Ensemble at the Maine Arts Festival in Portland, Maine, Summer 1988. Taped by Portland Maine PBS, Congo New York was developed as on opera and the first reading of Act I was given in 1994 - also available online.

Operation Blessing is a front for Evangelical Pat Robertson. The founder of Operation Blessing and the 700 Club has used funds and resources from Operation Blessing to support his 8 million dollar investment in a Liberian gold mine. He has also used OB as a platform to support Criminals and human rights violators like Liberia's Charles Taylor and Congo's Mobutu. Why were OB airplanes transporting mining equipment to the Congo when they were supposed to be shipping food and medicines?
