Ali Zamir — Jouissance (2022)

Jouissance (2022)

Jouissance, published in May 2022 by Le Tripode, marks a formal rupture even more radical than previous novels: the narrator is no longer human but a book itself—a novel that recounts its unhappy life as a literary object, thrown from trash bin to trash bin and reread with different hands.

Le Matricule des anges describes it as “lyrical and trivial, allegorical and burlesque”; Radio Télévision Suisse designates it as “one of the most astonishing readings of this spring”. Le Monde reads in it an “unsuspected witness to the life of others”.
