Written as early as 1948, even before The Palm-Wine Drinkard, this tale of wild hunting in the bush of ghosts was not published until 1982 by Three Continents Press: the founding manuscript immediately demonstrates the storyteller’s mastery, between supernatural hunts and the invisible Yoruba world.
