Second volume of the unfinished trilogy, Branle-bas en noir et blanc is the last published novel by Mongo Beti. It extends the narrative of Trop de soleil tue l’amour in a disillusioned Africa where hope resists.

Mongo Beti died in October 2001, unable to complete this final chapter of his reflection on postcolonial Africa.
