Death of the Author

Zelu, a disabled Nigerian-American woman fired on the day of her sister’s lavish wedding, writes a novel for herself: “Rusted Robots”. The manuscript becomes a global phenomenon… and slips away from her, amidst adaptations, artificial intelligence, and retelling by others. A searing metaphor on story ownership, nourished by the grief of her sister Ngozi. Locus Prize 2026 for Best Novel.
