Description
Novel by Maryse Condé published in 1992. The work retraces the journey of three Guadeloupean young men who set out in search of a better future. The title refers to the Magi of Christian tradition, but Condé subverts the symbol: here they are not Magi bringing gold and glory, but ordinary young people facing the harsh realities of the postcolonial world. The novel explores the themes of friendship, betrayal, and the search for identity.
