House of Margins (2026)
The novel follows Anaya Sebeya, a promising author invited to a prestigious writing residency at the Günter Huis, a terrifying colonial manor on the slopes of Devil’s Peak. Anaya never returns.
When a true crime podcast claims to reveal everything that happened at the Günter Huis, her sister Ranewa is both skeptical and furious. Each overrepresented episode allows Ranewa to reconstruct a truth worse than what her fears imagined. At the Günter Huis, Anaya’s nightmares consume her. Time dissolves. The house inflicts distorted visions and horrible supernatural visits, pushing Anaya to tell a story that no one dares to speak.
House of Margins, published on May 26, 2026 by Erewhon Books, is a breathless meditation on the colonial legacies of Africa and the rebellion of young generations.
« A fearless novel that probes ideas of surveillance, misogyny and class… Tsamaase brilliantly tackles ideas of motherhood and autonomy. » — The New York Times Book Review
