Afro-fusion

Style fusion nigérian mêlant afrobeats, reggae, hip-hop, R&B et sons africains

Afro-fusion

Afro-fusion (or afro fusion) is a hybrid style born in Nigeria and popularized in the 2010s, blending afrobeats with reggae, dancehall, R&B, hip-hop, and elements of traditional African music. The term was popularized by Burna Boy, who describes himself as Afro-fusion — a sound that transcends the boundaries of pure afrobeats to include Caribbean, American, and African influences.

Afro-fusion distinguishes itself from afrobeats through its greater stylistic diversity and transatlantic references. It incorporates elements of soul, rock, jazz, and even amapiano. Other notable artists in the genre include Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, and Davido.
