The kalindula is the popular musical style of Zambia, born in the 1970s-80s. This style is characterized by catchy guitars, dance rhythms, and texts in ng’anga. Kalindula is a very danceable and festive form of Zambian highlife.

The pioneers include The Mungwini (whose Kalindula is the signature), and the orchestra of A.M.K.. Kalindula is very popular in Zambia and Central Africa.
