Four years ago Steel Pulse took a groundbreaking step by endorsing Senator Barack Obama of Illinois as the right choice to be the 44th President of the United States of America.

Lead singer David Hinds and keyboardist and backing vocalist Selwyn Brown are the only two founding members of Steel Pulse are still on board.

Steel Pulse may have explored various styles of music since they started out in 1975, but when it comes to the message, the reggae band has remained close to their roots.

The idea of selling reggae to rock audiences is nothing new, and in the early '70s, white college students were among the first to embrace Jamaican music in the United States.

British reggae legends Steel Pulse will hit the road for a batch Summer dates. The tour kicks off this Friday, July 20 at Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA, and finds the duo of David Hinds and Selwyn Brown performing in Costa Mesa, San Francisco, Salt Lake City and more.
