Zamrock (Zambia)

Zamrock is the Zambian rock style of the 1970s, a fusion of rock with local rhythms and Zambian languages. It is a unique African rock movement, born in a post-colonial society and marked by Zambian identity.

The pioneers of zamrock include Paul Njobvu and the group WITCH (What Is Coming to the House), as well as Zambrian and the numerous groups of the Zambian rock scene of the 1970s.

Zamrock is a major cultural phenomenon in Africa and was recently rediscovered by fans of African rock.
