Velhas estórias

Norberto, o chimba e a Velha Chitula, published under the generic title Velhas estórias in 2004, brings together stories written by José Luandino Vieira in the 1970s. The collection reprints tales that circulated from this period onward in photocopied versions, particularly within circles linked to the Angolan Writers’ Union. These “old stories,” in the lineage of Luuanda’s estórias, bring to life the marginal and lively characters of deep Luanda in a language mixed with Kimbundu.
