African Gospel (Gospel)
African gospel is a Christian music style born and practiced in Africa, synthesizing Western gospel with local traditional rhythms. In Africa, gospel branches into multiple styles: bail in Senegal, Nigerian afro-gospel, Congolese gospel, etc.
Major figures include Dunsin Ogunromide (Nigeria), Kudus (Senegal), the choirs of Ghana and South Africa. South African gospel includes artists such as David Thuli Dhlamini (Sizwe), Tyrone Groenewald, and the productions of the Sotho choir.
African gospel has evolved into a major commercial genre, with dedicated festivals and high-quality international music production.
