Boléro
The boléro is a musical style and dance of Cuban origin (18th–19th century), popularized worldwide by composers such as Ernesto Lecuona. Characterized by a slow, binary, and romantic rhythm, the Cuban boléro has influenced numerous Latin American genres and is played with wind instruments, strings, and slow percussion.
African artists from the soukous and Congolese rumba scenes sometimes incorporate boléro elements into their slow compositions.
