Kabyle (Algeria)
Kabyle is a musical style and tradition from Northern Algeria (Greater Kabylie). It is the music of mountain songs, played with the rebab, local percussion instruments, and voices that take up themes of nature, love, and Berber identity.
Notable figures include Lounès Matoub (resistance fighter and artist) and the many Kabyle singers from the Algerian diaspora.
