Afro-zouk is a fusion between Nigerian afrobeats and the zouk of French Antilles. Born from the meeting between Congolese rhythms, Antillean compas and modern afrobeat, this style is characterized by danceable beats, catchy synthesizers and instrumentation mixing African and Caribbean sounds.
Artists like Afrigo Band, the Nigerian afrobeat producers, and Antillean zouk have contributed to this very popular hybrid current in the nightclubs of Lagos, Accra and the Antilles.
