There are less than 2000 lions left in the whole of Kenya, and if nothing is done they will all be gone by 2019! We were fortunate to see 4 individuals in Amboseli.

Sunrise in Ponta do Ouro / Mozambique.

Original picture done with a Nikon F80 and a slide film. I've played with my new digital slide duplicator. The results are obviously not as good as a slide projection. But it works ;)

Amboseli is a land of contrasts. It has very low rainfall and so is generally dry and brown, except for areas of swamp (fed by snow melt run-off from Mt. Kilimanjaro).

This jackal and its mate were scavenging meat off a fresh carcass.

This elephant had just walked out of the swamp.

A huge storm was blowing blowing in from Mt Kilimanjaro as the sun was setting. A single ray penetrated the gloom creating a really dramatic sunset.
