Mural paintings in the Congo room, Institute of the Ursulines, Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Waver, Belgium : Belgian Congo explained to the pupils of the school.


Fascinerende zaal met muurschilderingen van taferelen uit de voormalige kolonie Belgisch Congo : landschappen, tropische landbouwproducten, natuur als didactische ondersteuning voor de leerlingen. Deze zaal is onlangs door de school (behoort tot het patrimonium van de school, valt niet onder het beheer van vzw Wintertuin) fraai gerestaureerd en voor het eerst aan het breed publiek getoond tijdens het Feest van Vlaanderen (5 juli 2008).
Hier een fragment met zicht op Matadi met links "le cocotier" = "de klapperboom" en "le bananier" = "de banaanboom" en rechts "l'avocatier"= "de advokaatboom" en "le cacaoyer" = "de cacaoboom".

This primary school is free because all its students are orphans. It is funded by the Tayna Nature Reserve. The reserve is community based so all money earned through tourism cycles back to the community.
