Fishermen coming back to the pier at Santa Maria, island of Sal, Cape Verde. (Try viewing LARGE)
"Now!.... If I Run Fast Enough......."
This baby turtle made a break for it at a small conservation area near the hotel on the island of Sal, Cape Verde. The workers search every day for newly laid eggs, collect them and re-bury them in the conservation area to stop poachers from stealing them. They then wait for hatching, help the slowest out of the sand and then release them safely.

Sunset Reflections
Sunset reflecting on the sea and surf near Santa Maria, on the island of Sal, Cape Verde.
The Pier
The pier at Santa Maria where, at round about noon, the fishermen bring home their catch which can include Tuna and sailfish as well as the smaller fish. The pier is buit of concrete with a cobbled surface then further out is traditional wooden boarding. It is on the island of Sal, Cape Verde.
