U.S. Marines perform heliborne assault training with the Dominican military during a theater security cooperation event at San Isidro Air Base, Dominican Republic, Nov. 13, 2009. 1-Muchos podran pensar que es facil capturar un proyectil alado,como los son estos patos "MIGRATORIOS".Los que tienen experiencia saben de lo que hablo.Enfocar con un lente de 500 mm mas multiplicador,es como querer encontrar una aguja en un pajal.
Estas fotos( serie de 7) estan dedicadas a mis amigos cimarrones que se quedaron en su casa este fin de semana(Los mismos a los cuales llame los cimarrones esclavos)
Hay una foto muy simpatica que la he puesto como comentario y donde una hembra me esta disparando y no son flores jajajajaja. Esta no la querra nadie.
En lo personal, con haber logrado estas fotos ya el viaje habia llenado mis expectativas para mi.No es que sean fotos extraordinarias, pero si tomamos en cuenta la velocidad que alcanzan estos patos en vuelo libre, son velocidades de "vertigo" y sino preguntenle a mi amigo Ricardo Read.Lograr capturarlos con un lente de 500 mm mas multiplicador 1.4 no es tarea facil.
Ustedes no lo van ha creer pero la velocidad es tal que "Zumban" como proyectiles y cuando queremos enfocar solo lograremos enfocar el cielo.Cuando lo quieras mirar no los encontraras, pues parecen que quieren romper la velocidad del sonido.
Se trata de un pato de unos 45-50 cm de longitud y unos 615 g. Un pato de superficie de tamano medio con pico excepcionalmente grande, ancho y cerca de la punta parece una cuchara.
Estas fotos realmente me hicieron muy feliz en este viaje.
No tanto por la foto, sino por la especie.
Apreciados amigos, Usteden estan disfrutando con estas fotos del gran fenomeno natural de la Migracion.
Se trata de un PATO MIGRATORIO VISITANTE NO-REPRODUCTOR.
Es el pato Cuchareta-Anas clypeata-Northern Shoveler.
En esta foto muestro a un macho juvenil en vuelo. Notese que aun no tiene su cabeza verde, ni su viente blanco.Pueden ver que tiene sus costados rojizos.Es importante comentar que el macho en vuelo muestra un color azul palido en la parte delantera del ala y su speculum es verde.
Desde el 1970 los reportes incluyen pequenas cantidades de aves cerca de Barahona,Puerto Viejo,Laguna Saladilla y Cabo Rojo( lugar de la foto).
Es un visitante no-reproductor, poco comun. Historicamente los numeros varian desde ninguna a 2,000, pero desde el 1970, solo existen algunos reportes, generalmente de 5-25 aves y casi nunca mas.
Me alegra enormemente esta captura, pues solo de pensar que he capturado un ave que puede haber viajado desde el norte de Alaska,Manitoba, New Brunswick, California,Illinois o desde La columbia Britanica para estar en mi pais, eso me llena de orgullo.
Que bueno que donde capture estos patos estan seguros.Aunque en este pais no puedo dar nada por seguro cuando se trata de aves tan perseguidas por los cazadores.
