Here is thus "Baie Lazare" mentioned in the previous pic! Pity it was quite dull and overcast on that day ... still, this is just to share the favourite spots of my homeland with my closest friends, flickrians + others!

Like him

we used to spend all our time body surfing and thus wait for the waves .... still taken at Anse Intendance!

Childhood memories

Picture taken at Anse Intendance, a popular beach in the south of Mahé!
How many sundays did I spend there when I was a child ... and just like this kid = playing in the sand + body surfing all day!
Again = pity there was no sun because this beach is just paradise and would have made much nicer pics under full sunlight!

Untouched

... or so it seems!
Not really though since it does have a direct road to it also leading up to the nearby village of "Baie Lazare", named after Lazare Picault, the first settler who came on official mission in the course of the 18th century to take possession of the islands of Seychelles for France.
He moored his ship just in the bay (next picture) some 300 years ago ... and I don't think that this small beach has changed that much since ... not the very same trees of course but that's about it!
