Yellow mongoose

This was the fourth type of mongoose seen on our trip. I can only recall seeing them twice.

Lions

I usually dislike having any manmade features in my photos and these two lions are resting beside Nebrownii waterhole, a man-aided watering point (solar powered pumps are used). The lions themselves however made a great photo and I couldn't resist including them in my collection.

Pearl-spotted owlet

This bird was initially spotted by another visitor as we returned to our accommodation in order to start our morning drive, after an early breakfast while staying at Okaukuejo rest camp. In spite of low light levels I was able to get this photo of it and I am delighted at the results.

Spotted thick-knees

These were not seen often and certainly not in such numbers. The birds were quite far back from the track hindering a close-up shot.

Reaching the top

My colleague climbed Dune 7 and was a lot faster than I was. Which gave me a good opportunity to shoot his moment of victory.

Shipwreck at the Skeleton Coast

The northern part of Namibia's coast is named 4 Skeleton Coast' because there are many shipwrecks there. This is one of them, in between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.

View from the top

Just sand and blue sky. Isn't it amazing?
